The most suitable way for people who come from over 30 km from Sirmione is the motorway A4 (Milano-Venezia). Once you have reached Sirmione castle, follow the directions for the historical centre.
You can refer to the motorway website to get information about actual traffic conditions from both west and east.
You will be able to drive through the door of the historical centre, as guests of our hotel. We will have given your name to the local police and to the guard post situated in front of the castle, so that you will be able to enter in the ZTL zone.
The longer staying guests will have priority over the internal car park and will get written permission to circulate in the historical centre according to a schedule fixed by local police.
If the internal park spaces are sold out, you will be able to use a free car park near the city walls.
The most suitable airports to reach Sirmione are the following:
Gabriele d'Annunzio (Brescia, 25 km)
Valerio Catullo (Verona, 30 km)
Orio al Serio (Bergamo, 90 km)
Linate (Milano, 135 km)
Marco Polo (Venezia, 155 km)
Malpensa (Milano, 175 km)
We recommend Valerio Catullo airport (Verona), as there is a shuttle service (each 20 minutes) which link the airport to the Verona FS station, where it is possible to catch the train and reach Sirmione.
Sirmione is situated near the Milano-Venezia railway line, but there isn’t a Sirmione railway stop. So, we suggest you to get off the train in Desenzano if you arrive from west, or in Peschiera arriving from east. In both cases, you can get a bus to reach Sirmione.
You can refer to the Ferrovie dello Stato website to get information about train timetables.
You can reach Sirmione by bus from the Verona and Brescia cities (about one hour long journey) or from the nearer Peschiera and Desenzano (20 minutes long journey).
Bus timetables are available in this website.
Reaching Sirmione by boat can be both exciting and romantic! The stops are on the route of the major lake locations.
For timetables and price information you can refer to the Navigazione Laghi website.
